I am not familiar with Sage.  We have used Lytec for years.  It has good and bad points, but in my opinion all softwares do.  Web based is nice because you can allow providers access if necessary.  I personally don't care for Medisoft but it's a bit less expensive.  Advanced MD has great features but very pricey for billing services.  I would recommend you google practice management systems and try some demos.

SAGE makes ACT right? I use ACT and love it..but if they have a PM software I've not seen or heard of it either.

Hi, all I have been in business for 15 years and just lost one of my biggest accounts (might be a blessing in disguise) he had several offices but I have dvanced MD, to pricey for me, and now all the girls in the office are complaining about all the work they have to do. How would I charge for the monthly charges for Kareo, currently I use PMX 3 by Synergy but with my small practices will continue to use this but I need to get back out there and market myself, I was a claims processor for over 10 years.  I charged this provider a flat fee per date of service, so I think I need to start charging a percentage.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
JW

I would consider a flat monthly fee over a percentage.  There are a lot of older posts on this forum about flat fee vs percentage.  It is hard to look at losing your biggest account as a blessing but everything happens for a reason.  I know we've been there and it's not fun at the time, but we recovered and it was for the best.

Best wishes!

I'm with Michele, once you go flat fee, I would NEVER go back to percentage. It's easy to say you might have lost a client due to that but there is probably more to it, you are in business like anyone else and deserve to get paid for your time. This stuff about "getting paid when they get paid" really is becoming a thing of the past, in today's economy you have to change along with it, if you are good at what you do there shouldn't be any questions as to HOW you are charging, make sure your pricing is fair and up front.
