medicare and medex
« on: June 10, 2010, 05:39:24 PM »
Hi, questions for those of you who have dealt with medicare and medex(MA).....I've been doing a little research and from what I can gather one our new patients has medicare as primary, and medex as a gap insurance, to be billed as secondary.  My questions is, I've never submitted medicare claim and I've nevers submitted a secondary electronically, always did paper.  Now I'm electronic, and I'm not quite sure how hit works for medicare and secondary.  If I submit a claim to medicare electronically, when I get the payment, do I need to do the secondary on a paper claim by sending in with it a copy of the eob?  I hope I am clear on what I'm asking?

thanks for any information...

It depends on your system.  Secondaries can be sent electronically as well, if your system is set up to.

Thanks Michele:  I think I'll call my software company.  I think I can do secondary, think it's a good idea to check with them to make sure I've got everything set correctly.  Thanks for your input...
