: top 5 EMR software?
: bpark73 September 18, 2016, 02:51:03 AM
Hello,

We have a potential client that wants help in selecting a EMR software. They are starting off and will be a 2 provider office (internal medicine/surgeon). We will be doing the billing for them so they don't necessarily need billing functions on their side.

I would like to know what are the top 5 EMR softwares out there for both cloud based and native software...and why.

Also the doctor did mention about possibly providing "concierge medicine" services...I don't know if there are software features that have this or not, or even if this is a necessary software feature.

Thank you

I'm sorry but we (as a billing service) really don't have much to do with EMR.  We have seen a couple that our clients use but I am not qualified to recommend any.  I tried to do a bit of research but of course I'm inundated with ads for EMR systems.  I would ask other drs in the same field what they are using.

That's a good idea Michelle. Sorry for the mis-post

For the docs that I bill for that have an EMR, they all use Practice Fusion. One is an IM doc, the other two are podiatrists. It is cloud based, it is free, and they are all very happy with it.

Nothing to be sorry for.  It wasn't a mis-post.  I just wanted you to know that I don't have much knowledge in that area.

I have talked to physicians who use Practice Fusion and they are happy with it as well.  It really depends on what the provider needs.  Your questions scared me because you asked for "top 5" and I don't know enough about the many systems out there to give advise on the "top 5".  :)

ah I see...I guess I'll just have to ask around. Practice Fusion does in fact look very nice but will have to investigate the features. Thanks for the input.

Kristin, Practice Fusion looks great and will have to investigate further. Can't believe this is free? Or are only some features free?

So far as I know, everything is free in it. But, I didn't set them up with it, the billing companies they have did.

I believe it is free but it has ads on the page.  You can purchase a version that is ad-free.  I have never set it up either, but that is what I was told.
