Hello,

I need help. A patient was discharge and then he was admitted back in on the same day. Can I use CPT code (99234-99236). Any feedback will be appreciated.

I would bill the discharge code, and the admission code, anticipating that it will be denied.  But then I would appeal it with an explanation.

Yes, Discharge code will be paid and Admit will be denied as "two 99 codes on the same DOS will not be paid"

In this Case, Look for the admitting Dr. IF admitting Dr is different bill the charges with MOD 25.

If both the Dr's are same, Need to appeal with the Justification letter
