: PMS for my homebilling

Hello everyone,

I became a memeber here today and thrilled to see the topics covered and the reply from others. It's really wonderful. I have seven years of experience in medical billing and wanna start on my own now. Just wondering if it's really necessary to have a PMS of my own before I get into it. I've seen my previous employer using the PMS of the providers themselves. Will it not help my marketing efforts if I tell a provider that we dont have PMS and wants him/her to have one.
If I have to buy one, I dont really know howmuch a quality, HIPPA compliant PMS will cost? I would appreciate your suggestions.

Thank you.

I'm assuming PMS means practice management software?   There is no yes/no really. I know I have come across clients who want to continue with their own PM systems and yes, it works quite well. On the other hand you will come across provider's who want a full on system of outsourcing, software and all. I always tell billers NOT to turn a way a client because they want to continue using their own systems so I'd have to say that will work the other way, you don't want to turn a client away because your not setup with your own software.  Hope that makes sense.

Yup, I meant practice management software. Thank you for your reply. Anyone has any idea about Healthnautica? Has anyone been using it?
