Hi there,

I have a prospective client who is a provider going into nursing homes to see patients. Does anyone do this type of billing? If so, what are the differences between billing for these viists and the traditional office visits. I did a little bit of research on the internet and on the CMS website - but I need some siomple answers before I dig much deeper.

Thanks so much,
Charity

What kind of provider?  There's a LOT of Medicare/Medicaid of course.

Need to know the type of provider to help.  Some providers, billing is the same with just a different POS, but with other providers, the cpt codes change as well.

There are different cpt codes for nursing home E&M visits, but other than that it is basically the same.  Obviously with the different POS for the nursing home as well.  The E&M codes range from 99304-99310.
