Railroad Medicare Optometry Claims
« on: October 21, 2015, 05:58:27 PM »
Hi,

I have filed a claim for railroad medicare for an eye exam 3 times now and keep getting denials and every time they have a different reason for not accepting the claim. I even ended up hand writing the claim and it still got denied. Has anyone ever filed a claim with railroad medicare and been paid?

I file electronically to RRMC all the time, with no issues at all. But not for optometry, so I don't know what their benefits are for those types of services. Is your provider contracted with RRMC? Can you file electronically instead of on paper?

We file optometry to RRMCR all the time.  They do require electronic claims after they go x number of paper claims.  Are they denying for that reason?  It is pretty easy to get set up to submit electronically and that is usually the best way to go.  Without knowing the denial reasons it's hard to help.
