Billing Medicare as secondary
« on: January 08, 2009, 02:29:57 PM »
Hi,

I'm having problems billing Medicare as a secondary.  Medicare will not except the claim on paper with the EOB from the primary insurance so I've sent it as a secondary through the clearinghouse-but it is always rejected.   Has anyone had success with this process and could you share with me the BIG secret to getting this right.

Thanks

I would contact your electronic vendor and describe the problem to them.  It sounds like your electronics aren't set up correctly (the right info in the right loops/segments in the 837 file).  They will probably need to see your rejection report that you receive.
