Is it a union or self administered health plan? Usually those are a bit difficult to do so you would need to see the patients ID card.  Those are only ones I have trouble getting through to. I don't use any websites, it's always been quicker for me to call.

If it's MEDICARE eligibility you're trying to verify, it's www.palmettoGBA.com.  The provider must be EDI registered then you can access Medicare benefits, deductible information, what's been used already, and supplemental insurance information that the patient has on file with Medicare.  It takes a few times to learn to navigate to where YOU need to be, but once you learn it's rather handy and much quicker than the phone.

The Medicare phone line is complicated and a bit tedious, but if you write out a little cheater sheet for yourself with the provider info and have all the necessary patient information at hand, it's not too difficult.  They have a very particular way to punch in the information on the phone, but once you learn it it's not too bad.

Yes I tried the phone so many times, I kept trying the way they want me to put the numbers in and was not working..they were getting all the numbers right except one..then they kept saying they could not understand me..I am sure you appreciate my frustration..well I accomplished learning some of medisoft and got all the patients insurance information in..plus alot of the insurance eligibilties done. So I feel much more accomplished. Now to start billing..oh boy..Thanks for all your help Linda..I have to warn you, I will probably be asking more questions. Have a great weekend.
