Injection admin code
« on: November 25, 2008, 02:48:20 PM »
hi Michele,

Can you please told me should we bill 90772 & 20610 in one visit with J code (injection code)?
If yes then
who will be considered as injection administration 20610/90772?
Will insurance pay for both codes?
CPT code 20610 is injection/administration code?
If it is injection code should we bill it without administration code?
what will be his administration code?

Please forgive me if it does not make sense

Riafat,

If you are talking about billing the 20610 and the 90772 for the same thing that is not correct.  The 20610 is for a joint (aspiration or injection) and 90772 is for an injection that is subcutaneous or intramuscular.  They are two separate things.  The 90772 is not the administration for the 20610.  Depending on which one you are doing, you would bill that code with the J code to indicate the substance being injected.

If both services were rendered they would have been for different diagnoses and that should be indicated along with a 59 modifier to show distinct procedural service.

That would be correct if you are billing for a Vit B inj, and an injection into the joint for a different reason, which is what you have indicated in the coding.
