Hello Everyone  :)

I am new to this website and I am trying to start a medical billing business I have alot of questions so I hope everyone can help I am choosing software and I have had 2 demos one with mpm software and daqbilling. This is a very hard decision to make and I would like help  on choosing the best software for my needs I plan on starting out with at least three drs and will be the only one billing. I used to work for BCBS started out as a CSR and then moved on to an adjuster I also worked in four hospitals in my state as a medical secretary getting off track sorry back to the software well then I am came on this website and saw speedy software which is much cheaper then both of the software that I already had a demo with so my question is should I choose software from speedy software or the ones I had demos with that cost up to 3000 just for one user and two drs thanks :)

Hi,

Congratulations on your decision!  Sounds like you have a great background for it.

Speedy soft is a "fill and print" software, not a practice management system.  It is a lot cheaper but it has a lot less capabilities.  For a billing service you really need a practice management system.  You need to be able to post payments, print patient statements, run aging and other reports, etc.

As for the 2 you mentioned I am not familiar with either.  We use Lytec.  But what you want to make sure of is can you do multiple providers, can you eventually have more than one computer hooked up to the same software (Lytec has limits depending on the version you buy) what types of reports does it run, do they have regular updates, how does the tech support work.  These are some of the important things to consider.  Make a chart showing the two softwares.  I'm assuming they are comparable in cost to each other.  See what things they both offer, that should help you pick.

Choosing a PM system is one of the most important decisions you will make.  You need to choose wisely.

Good luck
Michele

Thanks for the response this website is great and very helpful WOW!!! thanks for making that clear also one is web based with a monthly fee around 300-400 dollars when you submit claims to them. My problem with that is once I purchase it what if I start off with one doctor what profit will I be making paying them to submit the claims. The web-based software you do get unlimted drs and unlimted users with them but I don't own the software they do. The other company it is not web based but the amount of users is not unlimted the users are two and the amount of drs is two they are around the same price the other company supplies Mckesson clearinghouse but the one thats not web-based does not supply anything but the software. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions. This is making my decision so much more easier to make.  I also plan on purchasing three of your books you guys are great!

Have a Great Day!!  :)
