Contacted for acquisition
« on: November 18, 2011, 01:44:33 PM »
Hi group,

Over the past year I have been contacted on a multiple occasions by companies (or firms representing companies) who are interested in acquiring my company.  Selling is not a thought however I wanted to see how you would feel about being contacted about another company looking to acquire yours.  I have a variety of feelings and thoughts rolling around but my goal is to put this in perspective.  On one hand I feel we have to be doing something right for other companies to look at us and hope to acquire us and on the other hand it gives an uneasy feeling that other companies are looking at us and hoping to acquire.  So, what are your thoughts?

Thanks,

Mel

I'd rather dismantle my company piece by piece.  I know a few who fell for it and they ended up to be front's for offshore companies OR A/R Factoring companies.. could never do that to my clients or my own reputation. JMHO

I agree.  My sister said I'm just super suspicious etc but I like to know all of the details so I can keep an eye on everything related to my company.

I agree with Linda.  When you are contacted it's usually something fishy.  If I were going to sell I would be the one doing the contacting of a reputable company.  I would never go with someone who contacted me.
