Coding fee
« on: May 03, 2011, 06:27:03 PM »
I have been reading a lot of questions about what to charge for claims. What about the fee for coding records or chart notes? Does anyone know what is the usual fee for coding services?

I would say the consensus is that coders are paid hourly, how much depends on a lot of variables, their certification, the geographical area, the volume, are they employed by the practice, self-employed, private contractor, in-house, outsourced, etc. No way to put this fee as an average.
