: Does Medicare reimburse 99000
: Sally Karr June 08, 2009, 03:24:01 AM
The practice I bill for has the MA transport blood draws from the office to the lab which they reimburse her for.  Does medicare reimburse for this code, and how is this billed?  Is it simply a 99000 on the day of transport?

Thank You.

I show that the 99000 is not a reimbursable code by Medicare.  I'm not aware of any other way to bill it.

Anybody else??

Thank you Michele,  Sometimes/most times it is very difficult interpreting what is and is not paid by Medicare.

Shoot....I also need to know about other insurances?     Do I just code it along with the veinipuncture with the same icd-9 codes used for it?   Is a modifier required?     Much Thanks!!!

Yes you would just code it along with the 36415.  I'm not aware of a modifier that you should be using.  All insurances are different, some will allow it, some won't.
