crossover from MED
« on: November 26, 2008, 01:08:40 AM »
Hi Michelle,

If patient has MED/MDQ, MED will crossover the claim processed to MDQ, is that right? it depends on which carrier MED will crossover or on which patient's plan is?

Thanks,
Kristy

I'm assuming that MDQ is medicaid.  It will all depend on your area and the Medicare carrier and who they are set up with to crossover to.  Our local Medicare does NOT crossover to any of our Medicaid plans yet.  We have to bill them out manually.  You need to check with your local Medicare to see who they crossover to, or wait for the eob to see if it was forwarded.

yes, MDQ is Medicaid. I'm in Hawaii and MED crossover claims to MDQ, HMSA, HMSAB...but sometimes MED failed to crossover so I have to control it to avoid timely denial.
Thanks for your responses :)
