: Choosing a clearinghouse
: Lee June 14, 2012, 06:08:26 PM
I am a self employed speech pathologist. I contract facilities, but now want to provide private therapy to individuals.  Most will be Medicare B outpts with supplemental insurance. Business details are not where my talents shine, so based on what I have read,  I think I want to go through a clearinghouse. I am trying to learn about the process and need to find one that will meet my needs with low expense, since my business is so small.  I will be the only clinician in my practice and my claims will probably never exceed 25 claims a week.  I am overwhelmed. Any suggestions? Thanks.

We use EClaims and are VERY happy.  They are also offering billing services now.  I only use the clearinghouse service though.  www.eclaims.com  (308) 698-5400.

Not familiar with EClaims so I can't comment on that.  We use Office Ally and it's virtually free.  At the most it's $20 per month.  Is there a charge for EClaims?

There is a monthly minimum charge, and .25 per paper claim.  Their reports are great, and we know immediately if there's something wrong with a claim.  There is no charge for rejected claims.

Thanks for sharing that pricing info.  We like to know what else is out there.  I was amazed when I first learned that there are clearinghouses out there that are free.  I've used two now, and both were great.  Although I am happier with Office Ally.  Great reports and I love their website.  We submit thousands of claims per month and at no cost!
