Icd-10 training
« on: May 10, 2012, 02:44:42 PM »
Hi!

Anyone know of any good (cheap) icd-10 training? I've been researching online and found
a couple but they all cost $800+. The doctor is willing to pay but I feel that's a bit much.

If this is for a coder in the practice than I would only go with the AAPC training in my humble opinion. If it is for general knowldge than I think a basic course would be ok. I could be wrong but $800 seems about average.

Codapedia offers free training with Nancy Maguire.....it just gives you the basics but it is really informative.

I've heard that Careerstep offers ICD 10 training programs which are conducted online. Worth looking into considering you save up on time and money attending a full-time on-ground program, in my opinion.

I'm doing AAPC's bootcamps on ICD-10 (athough I've done some training locally at NYU Hospital w/a client) and it's cheaper if you're a member around $600 or so and non-members I believe it's $700 - again this is for the 2 day bootcamp, books, and I get a few CEU's added to my coding license. I believe they give you the option to just do the bootcamp and it's cheaper by $100 or so on each (member/non-member). It's a bit cheaper than $800 and they're holding them all over the US. I'm doing mines in September when they come to NYC, but I could do Boston in July if I wanted it sooner. Link is below:
