General Billing question
« on: November 02, 2015, 02:19:55 PM »
Hello my name is Macy and I'm really new to billing.  I work for a small clinic.  I have some questions.   Someone emailed me letting me know that I posted payments that are not attached to the charge.  She also went on saying something about it being critical to the balancing of the accounts receivable.  Can someone break this down to me.  Like I said I'm really new billing.  Thanks so much.

It sounds to me like it's a software issue and that you are not posting your payments by line item.  Can't you ask your manager, or the person that emailed you to show you how to post line item?  Or you may be able to call software support and ask them to either walk you thru it or provide a video.  Some websites also have tutorial videos to show that as well.

There isn't enough information here to say it's a software issue or payment posting "error".  Every adjustment and payment should attach to a claim. You indicate that you are very new to billing, so before calling for support with software company I would suggest maybe giving us more detailed information.  Also you said "someone" emailed you.. who is this "someone".. office manager, supervisor, etc.
