Billing Multiple Payers
« on: June 13, 2008, 01:29:06 AM »
Home Health(23) -I have a patient with MCR for Skilled Nursing and Ohio MCD Waiver for his non skilled need(Home Health Aide) which MCR won't cover. Do I need any occurrence and or value codes or should I exclude each payer from each claim and send seperate

Hi,
I haven't had this particular situation before but it sounds like an occurrence or value code would not be appropriate.  I'm not sure what you mean by exclude each payer from each claim.  What form are you using to submit the claims?

Thanks
Michele

Hi Michelle,

I bill all medicare claims on ub04 and all medicaid waiver claims on a 1500.
What I meant by exclude is to not have either MCR AS SECONDARY ON MY 1500
OR MCD AS SECONDARY ON MY UB04.
I hope that clarifies what I meant.
