Trying to print CMS form in Medisoft

Question
Hello my name is Elizabeth. I do have a question. I am using Medisoft V!2 and am unable to download the CMS 1500 form. When we bought the upgrade I was unable to buy the tech support. We are handwriting all our appeals. any suggestions?
Thank you
Elizabeth C

Answer
Hi Elizabeth,
Are you saying that the upgrade didn’t come with the CMS1500 form?  If you bought your upgrade from a vendor (not directly from Medisoft) I would recommend contacting them (even though you didn’t buy support) and tell them you know you didn’t buy support but your question isn’t really a support issue.  Ask them why the CMS1500 form didn’t come with the upgrade.  You really need to get the form from Medisoft in order for it to work properly.

Thanks and good luck
Michele

Response
Thank you for your response, I did but the upgrade from Medisoft directly and I have tried to ask them a question, but they will not talk to me. I understand it did come with 1500, but I am not a tech person and have no clue on how to begin.
Thank you again.

So are you saying that you have the form but you just don’t know where it is to use it?

Response
Yes, pretty much. I was told by the sales person it's part of the new software , but I don't have anyone on the Medisdoft side to walk me through how to download it. There's my problem. I think it is ashame that all the pt information is already in the system and with a click of a button the claim is created. Instead, we are hand writing these claims, as I stated before whaic to me is very counter productive and a waste of time.

The CMS should already by in your system, it’s just a matter of pointing to the right spot to find it.  I don’t work with Medisoft, but I do work with Lytec which is very similar.  After you enter the charges, you need to select print primary insurance.  Then a box should pop up asking you which form to use.  If it doesn’t already automatically point to the location of the cms form then you will need to point it there.  Somewhere near the top of the box there should be what’s called a drop down box which allows you to look around your computer to point to the location of the form.  (Here’s where it gets hard for me to help you since I am not familiar with your computer.)  The CMS form should be in a folder labeled something like Medisoft Forms.  It may be on the C drive, or under Program files.  It is probably in a folder called Medisoft.  Another way to try to find it is to go to Window’s Explorer and do a search for “CMS”.  A list will pop up of different folders that the word CMS is in, but one of them will be the forms.  There is usually more than one choice of CMS form to choose from, so the folder will probably contain more than one form.

I hope you are able to find it!
