Potential Mental Health Client - Practice not started
« on: November 10, 2010, 06:21:33 PM »
Hello everyone,

An LPC contacted me and would like for us to provide billing services. She is currently working in a practice but will be branching off to work on her own by the first of the year. She doesn't have her practice yet and asked if we billed Medicaid.

Will she have to go through the credentialing process? Any other help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Bsmedbilling

You don't say if she is already contracted with carriers, but if not yes, she will need to be credentialed with the carriers she wasn't credentialed with. If she was credentialed with the previous carriers you should just contact them to see what would need to be done to change the office/location, or if she has to credential as a solo provider. SOME carriers will roll over a provider to their own file and some will require she start the process all over.
