Michele,
When sending in mental health claims and you have a pre-auth for say 10 visits, do you have to remember to put this on every claim you submit, and if so do you have a tip on how to remember this for the patients that need this.

Marge, does your system allow for notes?? Also our system (Mysis) used to allow us to do a counter When we had clients with referrals, we could "link" the claim to that referral and it would "reduce" it by the attached claims

I have to get in touch with the tech and find out, I know we can keep notes but the counter like you said would make it easy.
Thanks Charlene!

Years ago this was my biggest pet peeve for EVERY software.. !!
I used to have to rely on account notes and keep manual count. Whew thank goodness that's not the case.
IMHO the software SHOULD count and there should be a report. Depending on the software ( I use a few different ones) I enter the authorization and in some I can set when to give me a reminder. In some of them I can print the reminder (for example if there are 2 sessions left in the auth) and send it to the provider as a reminder to get ready for the OTR.
For other softwares I do a Print Notes report using a particular Note code and it will print a report of those notes with that code and I send that to the provider.

Thanks Linda
I am checking into it, I do not see anything in the software that will count or remind.

Our software allows us to enter an authorization.  It keeps track of the number of visits, date range, etc. and it puts the auth number in box 23.  If you go over the number of visits or past the date it pops up a warning message.

EXACTLY.. It's frustrating for me because I work on various software's, MY own does it but there are still many who do NOT have a count down and it's so frustrating!!
