If you would have a small home billing company with 2-3 clients at start would you bill direct or go with the clearing house?
Which would be the easier route?
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

That would depend on your software and its capabilities. For example, in order for me to go direct with my current software I had to buy a separate electronic program which costs a little bit of money. If I only had a couple of clients it wouldn't be worth it. But with the number of clients I have, it's more than worth it. There are free clearing houses out there, like Availity, which makes sense for someone starting out, if your software is compatible. If you have a way to go direct that is not too costly, that would be great.
