: Physician Billing for PT Progress Note/Plan of Care
: cohenmk July 14, 2009, 01:54:14 PM
Hi All....

I have a question regarding PT Billing...my Physician (Pain Specialist) feels he should be able to bill for a Brief OV if he signs off on the PT's Progress Note/Plan of Care.  The PT is NOT being done in our office, but in one of our OP clinics....

Also brought into the conversation was a CMS-485 (Home Health Cert & Plan of Care), which to me is something entirely different....

Is anyone familiar with either of these...can a Specialist bill for his services (as an OV) if he is reviewing and signing off on these??

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Would this actually be considered "Care Plan Oversight"??  Thanks.

The cpt codes for office visits specifically state "face to face contact with the patient".
