Can we submit paper claims to Medicare? Is there a restriction for the # of claims to be submitted for a month. We are doing billing in Hawaii and the billing software is not enabled for submitting EDI claims. Any suggested weblinks to know the Medicare paper claims submission limitations and specifics. Pls advise.

Most Medicare carriers are mandating electronic filing for all providers. If you are unable to submit electronically you need to apply for a waiver. You may want to contact Medicare. Most carriers offer a free software for electronic claims submissions. It is double entry as it is a separate system but if you aren't doing many claims then that may not be an issue.
