Intensive outpatient
« on: April 14, 2016, 01:36:26 PM »
Do anyone know if I can bill the code H0015 (Alcohol and/or drug services; intensive outpatient (treatment program that operates at least 3 hours/day and at least 3 days/week and is based on an individualized treatment plan), including assessment, counseling; crisis intervention, and activity therapies or education) with evaluation and management services, or is that already included?

If a patient attends group and then sees the physician for a med change etc., can I bill H0015 with  E/M codes on the same day?

Not really possible to answer your question as we don't know the licensing of the provider, the insurance plan, etc.
Need more information.

The insurance is Medicaid, and the providers are Doctors and licensed drug and alcohol counselors.

You can bill whatever services were performed.  The question really is, will they both be allowed.  And that will depend on the plan.  You stated it was Medicaid but Medicaid varies by state.  You would need to check with your state Medicaid administrator to be sure.  Are you billing on a UB04?
