: HIPAA 5010 Ready or Not
: PMRNC December 31, 2011, 02:30:38 PM
So we know CMS won't initiate any penalties for non compliance however we must be ready for HIPAA 5010 transactions by tomorrow.. Less than 24 hours.  From all reading I've done it looks like the only hold up's are the software vendors, payors are all ready.. clearinghouses may be ready and some will be able to convert the 4010 to 5010... So who is NOT ready?     I think we're going to see payment delays because carriers will not be able to process any 4010 transactions after tomorrow. There is talk that the MGMA has requested CMS to have a contingency plan, however as of today, that has not been revealed.

I'm curious to see what will happen.  To all, please report anything that you experience as a result of 5010.
