Pricing Services
« on: February 15, 2015, 08:34:45 PM »
I just purchased the pricing your medical service book, and after reading it  I would much rather just come up with a price per claim filed, which could include charge entry & editing the charges for modifiers etc... since I'm a certified coder as well as insurance follow up, appeals etc...   Does anyone know what the average going rate would be per claim in the state of Florida if you provide everything mentioned above?

the problem with pricing per claim is that you tend to "nickle and dime" services.. full practice management actually starts at benefit verification and eligibility.. with that in mind if you priced per claim and included that time you'd be looking at $6-$10 a claim (rough estimate) where as coming up with an all inclusive fee based on time, services you could better price to include "full practice" rather than appear to be "claims only". Would provide you a much better response when marketing. Per claim fees are very out-dated and again, they don't really project the full practice management that practices need today.
