Collecting from a guarantor at time of their visit
« on: September 13, 2010, 01:28:56 PM »
I am curious if we are able to collect a past due balance on a "guarantor" at the time of their personal visit to the doctor?  This person has several collection accounts on their children. Can I demand payment for those accounts at the time of her personal visit since she is the guarantor?

Thanks,
Kristi

Yes, you can demand payment and you can also refuse to see the patient (until their balance is caught up) if it is a NON-emergency.
