Question about commissions to vendor
« on: October 02, 2015, 02:56:29 PM »
American Medical Systems (the vendor) is in the process of setting up its first account for a dental office, they don't want all of their billing done but they want it done for patients that need oral appliances.  My question is, what is the average percentage that a billing company should charge in a situation like this?

Well I'm sure if you've looked around the forum you will see that many states do not allow percentage billing because it is considered fee splitting.  With that said you will find that many billing services are still using the percentage method.  I would think you would charge the same whether you are billing for the entire account, or simply a portion.  You may want to consider a per claim or flat monthly fee depending on the number of claims they may have.
