What is the best way to code this?  It is not a usual code but it is due to trauma and there is no chiari.  Some people tell me to use the 700 code for chiari but the key word is "acquired".  This is not part of the narrative for the claims but it is the final narrative for the attorney.  Thanks.

I'm confused as to what you are asking.  Are you asking how to code a cerebellum ectopy for billing purposes?  Or are you asking for wording in a narrative?

I am looking for the best ICD-9 code for this.  Thanks.

The ICD-9 code book from PMIC lists  Ectopic, ectopia cerebral as 742.4. If there is a test result listing this as a diagnosis you may want to call whoever performed this test and ask what code THEY are using for billing for the test.

Thank you for taking the time to give me your opinion on the code.
