Coding for Sleep study done in office
« on: March 03, 2012, 06:54:04 PM »
I am new and started working for a sleep lab in office setting. I am billing for 1st study as Polysomnography using 95810 without any modifier, which is capturing TC and interpretation both.

Some other biller told me that they bill 95810 and 95807 using modifier 59 for each study. Can someone tell me if this the right way to bill and I should also bill both CPT codes since our sleep studies are capturing 4 requiremets established by Medicare for the CPT 95807.

Are you the biller for the sleep study?  If so, you shouldn't be picking the codes without some form of coding or at least the patient's chart.  The provider should be giving you the codes for the services they provided.  Another biller really can't tell you what you should be billing without knowing specifically what was done.  Didn't the info come over to you with the codes?
