What is the average cost for business insurance? What is the average amount of insurance I will need? Is general liability the only insurance I need? What is a good insurance company? THANKS!

Ask your homeowners or rental insurance agent. I have two types, my liability (Errors & Omissions) is separate from the general insurance which protects my office/equipment, etc. I pay about $1700 a year combined and that's with a discount from my homeowners. I have 3 Mil coverage for E/O, but you can get away with 1 or 2 Mil which will lower it a bit.

I have a multi policy discount because I have my general and homeowners with Travelers. You can find a place that will give you a quote for your area and needs and they give you multiple quotes. Here's one I found: http://www.businessinsurancenow.com But I'm not sure if it's for NY only or not. You have to look for ones that have liability insurance for your state. Also in some states E/O could be called other things like professional liability insurance, quai-tam, or business malpractice.

I got mine thru USLI. I have USAA for other insurance and they do not offer business and E&O insurance. I got a good rate.
