Questions for consultations
« on: September 06, 2009, 07:27:03 AM »
OK so I am putting together a list a questions that I think are important to ask the provider during the consultation. These are questions that I think should help me as an outsourcing biller to get a better feel for the providers practice and how I can serve them better. It is also how I will base my price quote for them depending on patients, growth and other things. Here is a list of some questions I have thought of, if anyone has anymore that they use or think would be beneficial would be greatly appreciated.

1. Are you satisfied with your current billing situation? Obviously probably not if they are consulting with me.
2. What software have you used or are currently using? would you like to remain using it?
3. How many patients do you have? How many visits approx. a day?
4. Would you like to set up EMR?
5. What are you current problems, obstacles with your billing situation now?
6. How would you prefer sending or transferring data to us?
7.Have you outsourced your billing before?(if they have an in office biller)
8. How often would you like to receive reports and updates on claims and status?
9. Do you have a preferred collections agency and who is it?
10. What is your ideal billing solution? Then try to sell them on how we would meet that solution.

Again anymore ideas would help. I'm just trying to get a well rounded consultation questionnaire going. Hopefully others can use this as well.

"1. Are you satisfied with your current billing situation? Obviously probably not if they are consulting with me."

I would definitely not start out by asking this question.  If they say "yes" - interview over!

Like you said, they probably are not satisfied if they are meeting with you so you want to get them to tell you what it is they are having problems with so that you can tell them how you can make that better.

I agree with Michelle!!

When I visit a practice for the FIRST time, I don't like to put too much pressure on them in trying to obtain this information, try to remember that you are selling your services and it's not just about focusing on "outsourcing". I don't ask those questions until I know I have done my job and sold myself, those questions are the next "level". My first visits consists of listening to their problems, concerns and then offering up solutions. If you go in there wanting all this information on the first visit they are going to think you are interviewing THEM and that's never good. JMO.. You need to sell your experience and knowledge FIRST!

A question that might not get you the provider:

My parole officer says I have to be home all the time, which is why I wear this bracelet, so would you object to my working from home?  I have special permission to be here for an hour only.
I'l have a double chubby chuck, a mexicali chilibarb, and two cherry cokes
Left hand Blue, Right Leg Green
You got your peanut butter on my milk chocolate.
Dont cut the blue wire!
I love spam.
