: Importance of guarantor information
: kawinaorg July 28, 2009, 02:48:02 PM
I'm part of a project to design a system that provides Payer data to medical offices. There is internal disagreement as to the degree of importance of collecting guarantor data. We all agree that it is very important, but we need to determine if the need is absolute.

The camp that contends that the need is absolute has claimed that the patient is more likely to experience a delay in care if insurance data without guarantor is provided than if no insurance data is provided at all.

I'd appreciate feedback on which is more likely to create a delay in care:
1. No insurance information
2. Insurance information without guarantor information

I'm not sure if what you are looking for is an answer to THIS question, because it's sort of a given that the answer is always going to be:

1. No insurance information

I agree with Linda.  Without insurance info you are dead in the water.
