: Change in Insurance

Hi,

With the new year, there have been changes in insurances. If the insurance carrier is the same but the policy number is different, please advise on the correct method to add the new insurance. Should the new insurance number be just updated or should we put the old insurance to "expire" status and add the the new number as new insurance again. Looking forward to helpful tips.
Thanks.

If the software allows you to expire the insurance I feel that is best.  But some insurances do not allow that and you have no choice but to just change the number.  It is always handy to have the old information easily available.

If it's the policy number that's changed you should add new policy info as "new policy". If it's just the ID number that changes you would only need to change the ID field.
