I live in a state where fee spliting is illegal. I figured charging hourly might suit me best. Is $30 an hour plus $6 to $8 an account a little outrageos. I dont want to cut my self short.

I'm not sure I understand the $6-8 either.  What do you mean "plus $6-$8 per account"

Why don't you consider flat fee billing since you are in a fee splitting state. You have to consider what you want to make per hr, the amount of time it will take you to process this clients work, plus adding in costs (software, forms, stamps etc etc) and come up with a price.

If you want to get paid 30.00 per hr. and that clients job takes you 10 hrs per wee, thats 40 per month.  that is 1200 a month plus you add in the cost of your software 199.00 and an additional 200 for ammenities. you are now at 1599...1600 a month. This is your fee for that client. You also have to have in your contract a clause for growth.  (This is just an example)

If you work 8 hrs a day...you can work 4 clients similar to this and you will make about 6400 a month.
