Help
« on: March 24, 2011, 08:58:03 PM »
I have a question. When a patient is only seen because he was being taught how to self inject meds. Can you bill for office visit level 1?
Thanks.

Who is seeing the patient?  The dr?  A nurse?  If so, it sounds like they would meet the requirements of a level 1 E&M visit.

# Established Outpatient: CPT Code 99211

   1. Key components not required
   2. Physician need not be present (only supervising)
   3. E/M Minimal Problem
   4. Staff Time: 5 minutes

Sounds like it meets the requirements!  :)
