: Reverse/Cancel Medical Claim sent to the wrong ins. co.

A pt has two ins. did not tell us which one to use. Can you reverse or cancel a the claim that was sent to the wrong ins. co.? IF so how.

If it was the wrong insurance (the secondary and not the primary) they should have denied the claim asking for the primary eob.  If you are not sure which insurance is prime, call both and inquire.  If the secondary paid the claim as prime, send them a letter/adjustment form explaining that they processed the claim incorrectly.  In the meantime, submit to the primary for payment so that you can resubmit to the secondary with the eob.
