Awkward Situation
« on: July 01, 2010, 04:57:15 PM »
This was posted in the wrong area, so I moved it here so that others can respons.

"Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and very pleased with the posts that I have read.

Quick question: I sent out letters about 2 weeks ago (marketing for client). I received an email from a person stating interest in employment on yesterday. I have not landed a client and I am not seeking employees at this time. The resume states that the person is an Office Manager at a practice that I mailed a letter to. Has anyone ever had something like this happen to them?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

And I guess I will respond!

Actually we have been contacted by many people looking for employment, and some have been employees of offices we have been in contact with.  It can get awkward, but sense you are not working for the provider she is employed by, it really isn't an issue.  I would just respond saying that at this time you do not have any positions available, however, you will keep her information on file.

You could actually use this for your advantage.  Let her know that you if you gained more clients you may have some positions open up.  That may inspire her to get you in to see her boss!  You never know.

Good luck
