Medicare Consolidated Payemts
« on: March 28, 2016, 02:34:32 PM »
I have a client whose major patients are in-patient. Someone in hospital told him that Medicare will change to consolidated payments for all affiliated physicians. This means that Medicare will only pay to hospital for in-patient services and hospital will pay flat fee to affiliated physicians. I did research but is not able to find any post on CMS about this topic. My client is very worried that if this go live then it will impact him a lot. Anyone is aware of this? Please share any news on this topic.

I can only find information about this relating to hospitals in Puerto Rico or physician groups that are purchased/acquired by/or owned by the hospital.  I don't see anything about independent physicians.
