Billing for GAD-7 and PHQ9 (96127)

(1/4) > >>

lpfamilyphys:
My provider is starting to bill for GAD-7 and PHQ9 for our patients.  It has been brought to my attention that we have quite a few patients that need both sheets for their anxiety and depression.  How do I bill for both?  I have tried to research this and can not seem to find anything on this issue.  I would love the feed back

Michele:
The description of 96127 is "Brief emotional/behavioral assessment, with scoring and documentation, per standardized instrument"  so I would think you would just bill 2 units when both tests are administered.

I personally have not billed for this, but that is my interpretation.

lpfamilyphys:
Thank you I will try that and let everyone know how it works.
