help with hospital
« on: April 21, 2011, 07:34:36 PM »
My provider is looking into becoming credentialled with a local hospital.  As for now, he is just going to be doing psychological testing there.   They want us to do his billing.  Once he is affiliated with the hospital, what do I do?   I know that I would need to contact all insurance companies that we are networked with, but would we have contract with all insurances that the hospital takes?  I have never worked for a hospital or facility, therefore, I have know idea about UB04 claim forms.   Please help.   I dont have time to do my job now much less do something like this.  I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY GUIDANCE.

If you are still going to be billing for his services it's still the professional component's and still billed on the CMS1500

ok great.  What about the rest?  Would I need to get doc networked with all the same insurances or will it be considered the exact same as now, in reference to the cms1500 form. ( meaning all is the same exept listing hospital in box 32?

All is the same except box 32 and the POS.  If he is already networked, that doesn't change.  If he is not networked and wants to be you have to contact each insurance carrier and find out how to get in network.

That is what I was thinking.   Now, we have a testing technician.  Is there a way that the testing technician could administer testing at the hospital on his own? Or, does the psychologist need to be there also?

What are the credentials of the testing technician? That is what it will come down to, any less than pHD and they will need to be supervised. (on site)
