URGENT CODING QUESTION
« on: February 18, 2012, 08:03:54 PM »
Has anyone ever dealt with Tricare and billing out for active duty service members?

I would like to see if you all agree with me coding this clinical write-up for a diagnosis code:

"Risk for UTI due due limited bathroom facilities and long flight missions"

Tricare came back to me with 788.30.

I feel the most appropriate code would be Code 788.91 is " Functional Urinary Incontinence"
Defined as - Inability of usually continent person to reach toilet in time to avoid unintentional loss of urine.

Anyone else have any suggestions?
Thanks for your help.

Actually the full description of 788.91 is:

 Functional urinary incontinence
Urinary incontinence due to cognitive impairment, or severe physical disability or immobility

I think I would go with 788.30.
