Hello, I have been doing billing for several physicians for 10 years but always under their tax id and NPI, but now i'm starting my own business and having them as clients. I have my tax id but do i need an NPI to bill them out, or do just they need one. I don't think i do. But i wanted to make sure.

Hi Sheri,
No you don't need and can't get an NPI number for a billing service.  Good luck with your business.
