: Medical Provider Billing Homeowners Insurance

Hi - I currently work for an Urgent Care

We were looking into things that have not been done in the past with our company but no one has an answer as to why we never did things a certain way...

So the question is can we bill homeowners insurance directly?  (on a 1500)  or would this be the responsibility of the patient to pay the balance and then get reimbursed by the homeowners insurance.

We are a non-profit organization and the main focus here is to avoid billing the patients so if possible we would like to directly bill the homeowners ins.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I would call the insurance company and find out.  I understand the conditions that would cause a homeowner's policy to be billed, but they may only pay when the patient's care is completed OR they may only reimburse the patient for expenses paid.  You'll have to call them and find out how their company deals with medical claims.
