: Revision of Hypertrophic Scar

Good Afternoon,

I am trying to code a revision of a hypertrophic scar that was from a previous c-section. For the dx I am going to use L91.0, but I am having problems with the cpt code.

I was thinking about the 12031-12037 depending on scar length, but most of the things I have read online says to use 13100-13102.  I am a little confused because under complex repair in the guidelines it says that "complex repairs includes the repair of wounds requiring more than layered closure, viz, scar revisions, etc..."

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Based solely on what you are stating I am finding the same thing, 13100-13102.
