Contracts
« on: August 15, 2012, 10:19:42 PM »
Hello all.  I just want to start by thanking all who post to this forum.  It has been such a blessing to me.

My questions are:
*What type of lawyer would I need to review my contract?
*Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to word/list the pricing in my contract?
*Does anyone know an lawyer who has done this type of work and is reasonably priced?
*How much have you paid to have this type of work done?

Thanks again.  Any response is coveted.   ;)

Any contract attorney should not have a problem, some do like to find ones that have a background in healthcare administration. You can contact your state bar for a referral.  What you will pay will depend on several things, area you live in, will you have them review/edit or draft and retain. I chose to retain the attorney for my general business needs this way if I get a new client I just call him and he takes care of it, he's also there if I need him to do a little pushing when my clients are late paying (yeah it happens) or edit contracts and other things. Generally speaking expect to pay about $100-$400 an hour, Again, I preferred the yearly retainer so it covers all of what I need and sometimes I can carry it over if I don't use him. If you have never done a contract I advise you to go in for the free consult, he/she will go through all the things with you and he'll draft the contract and go over it and edit if needed. Leave the pricing general and let him word the legal verbiage but leave certain things blank for you to fill in for each client. You might not have the same contract for all clients. My best advice is to not even LOOK at sample contracts on line, those IMHO are dangerous and the ones you will see are barely a few pages. My contract is 12 pages long if that gives you any idea of what you'll be missing if you download and use a sample.
