Attorney
« on: January 30, 2013, 11:50:32 AM »
Good morning
I was wondering how are you all are choosing your attorney? Are you using your personal attorney or should I be looking for a separate business attorney? What services should I be looking for besides contracting?

thanks for any help!  :)

If you have anything to do with helping a doctor get paid for the work he does, you need an attorney who is knowledgable about health-care law.  Around big cities where there are many hospitals, there are attorneys who specialize in health-care laws.  Away from the cities, probably not so much.  Google on "health care attorney" and look at what is there.

Here is a start.

You can also call your state Bar Asso, some have programs where they will try and match you or your business with the right attorney.

Yes, it's always best to get a lawyer who specializes in HealthCare. They're plugged in on change of policies, etc. They're also great for varying contracts wirh your clients. My ambulatory contract is very different from the contract I have with my Cardiologist, etc. Definitely a good move and excellent advice about calling bar association in your area if you can't one on your own.
Don't worry. Be happy.
