We had a claim that was denied by united due to the provider being out of network. Can we bill the patient?

regardless of them notifying the client, if it denied as OON, pat responsibility, the patient can be billed. providers are NOT obligated to tell a patient they are non par with their insurance, but it is to the providers best interest to do so, collect up front and bill non-assigned for possible reimbursement to the patient.
